Winter planning

My husband and I own a tear drop camper. A T@G XL I bought in October 2020. And she has added so much to our life. She has been perfect to launch us back into camping. And we have launched so much so that we need more from our camping rig. Change is inevitable isn’t it? At 56 years of age, I have finally found the courage to embrace change. I always wanted things to stay the same. I liked routine and knowing how things would be in our life. But life throws curve balls and you get better (and even good) at catching them and sometimes even throwing a few home runs with those curve balls. Eventually, I realized change is good. Change can even be great!

As I talked about in a prior blog post, we toured the Hershey RV show this summer and decided a camper van or a class B camper is probably the best fit for us. We spent some time talking to Sequoia Salt custom van builders and liked their work and their vibe. They are in NJ. My brother told us about a custom camper van builder in central NY which also sounds like a good option: East Coast Van Life. But first, we wanted to sketch out what we wanted. It was important to find out if we were on the same page for what we wanted in our camper van. So one Sunday morning, I put pencil to paper while hubby did some research and came up with the below sketch.

When I showed it to him, he said the magic words: “That is exactly what I would have sketched out.” If you have been in a relationship for any length of time, you can imagine the relief I felt. Yes! We had the same vision. Now, patience as we put together the money to make it a reality. Until then, we will talk and dream about what we want our life on the road in our camper van to look like! Here’s to you throwing a few home runs from your curve balls and creating the life you want no matter how messy your drawing!
